A 23 year-old man has been shot in both legs in a gun attack at his home in the Creggan area of the city.
Shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening five men forced their way into the man's home in Iniscarn Crescent. The men wore dark clothing and had scarves covering their faces. They found the 23 year-old in an upstairs victim where they shot him five times in the legs. The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

A number of teenagers were in the house at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

The shooting has been widely condemned with local priest Fr Stephen McLaughlin accusing those responsible of forcing their will on the community in Creggan.

It is the latest in a series of shootings in the Creggan estate in recent weeks.
